The Truth About CBD Isolates

To some people, CBD is CBD. In reality, there are 3 main categories or forms of CBD that manufacturers add to their products, and it’s important to know the difference.

Full-Spectrum CBD simply takes all the Cannabinoids, Terpenes and Flavinoids found when extracting from the hemp plant and delivers them. Because this is the most natural form, there can be variations from lot to lot and plant to plant.

Broad-Spectrum CBD is the same as Full-Spectrum with one key difference; even the trace amounts of THC have been removed. Both of these forms deliver the benefits of the Entourage Effect.

CBD Isolate removes all Cannabinoids, Terpenes, and Flavinoids from the hemp extract, isolating the CBD only and delivering it.

Some manufacturers who sell CBD isolates in their products tout it as the purest form of CBD. Well, technically they are correct. But let’s explore the things they’re not telling you.

  1. CBD isolates are the cheapest form of CBD to include in a product. It is completely generic, with no qualitative differences that can be offered from breeding, growing, or extracting methods of the hemp plant. In fact, it is similar to adding caffeine to a product, without any traceability to the source.
  2. CBD isolates do not offer any benefits from the Entourage Effect. This comes from the unique synergy created when combining the Cannabinoids (like CBN, CBC, and CBG) together. This essentially makes CBD Isolates less effective than Full and Broad Spectrum CBD.
  3. Using CBD Isolate is analogous to cooking without spices. Yes, it’s pure, but does that make it better? More enjoyable?

It is important to trust the company you’re buying your CBD products from. Can you trust a company that prioritizes saving money over delivering the most effective form of CBD? I don’t think so!
