Why Two People Can Drink the Same THC Beverage and Feel Different

You open the same THC drink as a friend. You both have the same amount. One of you notices a gentle shift pretty quickly, while the other barely notices anything at all.

That does not necessarily mean anything went wrong, or that you made a mistake in how you consumed the beverage or the dosage you chose.

One of the most important things to understand about cannabis is that the number printed on the can is only one part of the experience. The CDC notes that cannabis can affect people differently based on previous experience, biology, THC concentration, frequency of use, and the way cannabis is consumed. Health Canada similarly notes that even the same person can respond differently from one occasion to the next.

Here at Bimble, that is exactly why learning your own pace matters so much.

The Dosage is consistent, but your experience can vary.

If two people each drink a 5mg THC beverage, they have consumed the same stated dose. That does not mean they should expect identical experiences.

Someone who uses cannabis regularly may have developed more tolerance to THC than someone trying it for the first time. Another person may simply be more sensitive to THC. Previous cannabis experience, frequency of consumption, individual biology, and the presence of other cannabinoids can all influence how noticeable a particular dose feels.

This is why we are cautious about declaring that any particular dose will make everyone feel a certain way.

We can talk about typical experiences. We can give people useful starting points. But nobody else can tell you exactly what 1mg, 5mg, or 10mg will feel like in your body.

That part you really only learn through experience.

What you’ve eaten can matter too!

The circumstances around the drink can change things.

Food in your stomach can influence the timing and overall experience of orally consumed cannabis, and health authorities specifically identify food as one of the factors that can affect cannabis beverages and other edible products.

That means the same person could drink the same can on two different occasions and describe the experience a little differently.

Maybe one time it follows dinner and another time it does not. Maybe your familiarity with THC has changed. Maybe you are simply in a different setting and paying more or less attention to what you are feeling.

Variation does not make the experience unpredictable or unknowable. It simply means cannabis is personal enough that your own history is usually more useful than someone else's review of the exact same dose.

Experience and tolerance make a meaningful difference.

This is particularly important when friends are drinking together.

It can be tempting to use someone else's reaction as your benchmark. If they are comfortable with 10mg, 10mg must be comfortable. If they barely notice 1mg, perhaps 1mg does nothing.

Neither conclusion follows particularly well.

Health Canada recommends that people who are new to cannabis begin with lower amounts of THC and learn how their own body responds before increasing the amount. Its consumer guidance specifically points toward 2.5mg THC or less for people using edible cannabis as a lower-risk starting point.

That is one reason we are particularly proud to make a true 1mg Bimble.

For someone who has never tried a THC drink before, 1mg creates room to learn without using another person's tolerance as the standard. If you already understand your response and want something more noticeable, 5mg may fit beautifully. And for an experienced consumer who knows 10mg is comfortable for them, there is a place for that too.

The important part is that the progression belongs to you.

Even your own experience can change.

This may be the most reassuring thing to understand.

If a THC drink feels slightly different one evening than it did another, that is not inherently unusual. Health Canada explicitly notes that a person's response to cannabis can differ from one time to the next.

Cannabis is not a perfectly mechanical experience where a particular number of milligrams produces precisely the same sensation every time. The dose gives you an important reference point, but context and individual response still matter.

Over time, that is actually useful information.

You begin to recognize the level that suits you. You learn whether you prefer something very light or more present. You understand which kinds of occasions feel right for different doses. The uncertainty that surrounds the first few experiences gradually becomes familiarity.

Why we offer 1mg, 5mg, and 10mg

This individual variation is a big part of why we never wanted Bimble to exist at only one strength.

We believe a cannabis cocktail should support where you actually are in your experience with THC beverages. For some people, that means beginning at 1mg and staying there because they love the subtlety. Others find 5mg of THC in a can becomes their natural sweet spot. More experienced drinkers may prefer a 10mg beverage experience when they want a fuller experience.

None of those choices needs to become a competition with the other “levels”...what matters is understanding your own comfort level and choosing intentionally. Cannabis becomes much easier to navigate when you stop asking whether you are feeling what someone else feels and start paying attention to what works for you.

That is the journey we want Bimble to support: a drink that tastes beautiful at every level, clear dosing that helps you understand what you are choosing, and enough range to let your relationship with THC develop at its own pace.
